Vergence update 17 May

Hello friends,

Here is a quick update on what's happening with Vergence fulfillment:

  • I have begun shipping books to U.S. print backers. All packages should be in the mail by some time next week. 
  • I am waiting for color and b&w proofs to be delivered from DriveThruRPG. When I approve those I will be able to set up coupons for POD backers to order their copies.
  • Digital copies of the core book (with handouts and playbooks), Tome of Greater Beasts (for early and high tier backers), Prosperity Engine, and Journey to Hel have been distributed.
  • I am actively working on development for Otherworld. Once that's done I will tackle Voidwall.

Vergence core is final!

Hello friends,

I am incredibly pleased to announce that the Vergence core book is complete! Compared to the pre-release version, there have been changes to special abilities, streamlining of text, some additional setting info added, formatting improvements, clarified language, and typos corrected. 

  • I have placed an order with the printer for hardback color printing. These will go out to U.S. physical print backers as soon as they arrive and I can get them packaged up and shipped. 
  • Because the price differential between color and B&W printing at DriveThruRPG is high, I created both kinds of print files. Once those files are approved, I will be required to purchase a proof copy of each, after which I can make codes available to everyone who purchased at the Print on Demand level. You will be able to choose to print in either color or B&W from the DriveThru folks, for the cost of printing + shipping from DriveThru. 
  • The final core book, handout, and playbook PDFs have been distributed to backers. 
  • The updated digital (Google Sheets) playbooks are available at this link. Open that folder to find the playbook file. Open that file and choose File > Make a copy to create an editable version of this playbooks in your own G-Drive folder. You can share and make this file editable to everyone in your play group. 
  • The Prosperity Engine PDF files have been distributed to backers.
  • The Journey to Hel PDF files have been distributed to backers.

Vergence update 13 April

Hello friends,

I just received a color printer's proof of the Vergence core book and it looks great. 

I'm going to take a few days to go through it, fixing any small issues I discover. Then I will lock the book as final and order the U.S. print run. When I receive that delivery I will package the books and ship them out to U.S. print backers.
 
I will also do a few other things when the core book is locked:
  • Digital copies of the final core book (with sheets and handouts) will go out to backers and be uploaded to itch.io. 
  • The Prosperity Engine and Journey to Hel supplements are ready, so those will go out to backers. Otherworld and Voidwall are in the works but are not ready yet.  
  • The Tome of Greater Beasts is also ready and will go out to early and high tier backers.
  • Prep the core book for DriveThru POD. This will require approval and a printed proof before I can send print coupons to backers at the POD level.

Vergence update for March 30th

Hello friends,

Here is where we are with the Vergence crowdfunding project:

  • I now have the manuscript for The Prosperity Engine supplement by Shawn and Navi Drake. It's awesome! I am finalizing layout and should have the PDF ready to go out with the final version of the core book.  
  • I have ordered a proof copy of the Vergence core book hardcover from the printer. It will be a full color book on 80 lb. glossy paper—despite not achieving the color interior stretch goal, I am still making that happen. The printer proof should arrive in a week or so. I will fix any graphical errors and do a final read-through for typos and then order the print run of books for U.S. hardcover backers. I already have shipping boxes and should be able to get them in the mail shortly after receiving the books. 
  • When the final version of the core book is locked, I will prep print files for DriveThruRPG (which have to be slightly different than the files for the regular printer). DriveThru requires that I order a proof from them and approve it. Once that is done, I will send out print coupons to everyone backed at the Print on Demand level. 
  • When the print version of the core book is locked, everyone who backed will get access to the final PDF, along with character sheets and handouts. 
  • The Tome of Greater Beasts supplement is a small extra for early and premium backers. It will be available with the final version of the core book. 
  • Meanwhile, I am working on the Journey to Hel supplement and will have news on that in a future update. I  will get it out as soon as possible after the core book is finalized. 
  • After all that, I will finish the Otherworld and Voidwall supplements, which I expect to deliver  later this year.

Working toward final, feedback needed

Hello friends,

Here's a quick status update on the Vergence crowdfunding project. 

  • The core book is in final development. I've been adding details, clarifying language, sprucing up layout, and cleaning up pesky typos. The file also needs to be prepped to print correctly. 
  • Meanwhile, the Drakes are working on the Prosperity Engine supplement, which will expand upon the description of the Construct that will be added to the core book. 
  • I hope you are enjoying the pre-release digital version that went out a couple of weeks ago. If you have thoughts, comments, suggestions, ideas, or complaints, it's not too late to influence the final version of the game.   • If you are looking for people to play online with, the #looking-for-game channel on the Discord server is a good place for that. 
  • Almost everyone has filled out their survey, include all backers who ordered a U.S. physical copy (which means I know how many to print and I have addresses to send the book to). That's really helpful, so thank you.
